GEORGE WASHINGTON WOOD B&B

Deposits

A 100% deposit will be collected for all one-night stays. A 50% deposit will be applied to all other reservations or packages, with remaining balance to be paid upon arrival at check-in. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover and American Express. We do not accept any form of checks.

Cancellation

A cancellation fee of $49 will be charged for any cancellation request received from the time of reservation up to, and including, 14 days before scheduled date of arrival. Any cancellation received within 14 days of scheduled arrival date results in deposit forfeiture, and the guest is responsible for the entire reservation if we are not able to re-rent the room.

Smoking

Smoke-Free Facility: The George Washington Wood Bed & Breakfast is proud to offer a smoke-free environment. Smoking is not permitted in guest rooms, indoor or outdoor common areas, nor anywhere on our grounds where it may impact other guests or pose a fire hazard. We will assess a $500 fee to your credit card for any violations of our no smoking policy and we reserve the right to ask you to leave the premises immediately. If the room is damaged or requires an excessive amount of cleaning; an additional cleaning fee will be assessed to your credit card at a minimum hourly rate of $95/hour and any damages will be assessed the value of repair or replacement. Our non-smoking policy includes all types of tobacco, as well as e-cigarettes, etc.

Amenities

Each room and suite at George Washington Wood Bed and Breakfast is unique. With accommodations on two floors, you can select a room with an electric fireplace and all of our rooms have large sunny windows. We have plenty of outdoor sitting areas for your enjoyment. The B & B offers a host of guest amenities designed for your comfort. The gourmet breakfast and Scandinavian Almond bread can be enjoyed from 8-9:30 each morning on the enclosed sun porch or the dining room.

Other amenities include:

  • Daily housekeeping
  • Hair dryer
  • Ironing board and iron (available upon request)
  • Flat-screen televisions
  • Complimentary parking ON-SITE for each guest room: one (1) car per room

Daily rates are per room, single or double occupancy, and include a full breakfast. Room rates are subject to Pennsylvania’s Room & Meals tax.

Deposits of 50% guarantee a reservation (100% for a one-night request, and whole-house reservations), but may not be transferable. Call us to review options should a problem arise.

If you find you must cancel your reservation more than 14* days prior to arrival, you will receive a refund less a $49.00 processing fee. If you cancel within 14* days of arrival, your deposit is non-refundable unless the room is rebooked at which point we will process a credit minus the appropriate cancellation fee. *Exceptions: The cancellation period for holidays, the fall foliage season (mid-September through late-October) and multi-room reservations requires notice 30 days prior to the arrival date. Event/whole house reservations require cancellation notice of six months prior to the date of arrival (25% of the deposit is non-refundable). Within six months of arrival for those reservations, final payments are processed. If the cancelled reservation(s) can be rebooked, we will apply credit for those replacement reservations minus the applicable cancellation amount.

Cancellations within 48 hours of check-in date are responsible for full payment for the entire reservation (within 7 days for peak periods and multi-room reservations, 6 months for event/whole house groups).

Decreases in the number of reserved nights are subject to the cancellation policies once the reservation has been confirmed.

Early departures will be charged for the entire length of the reservation.

We will make every attempt to rebook any cancelled reservation and, if able to do so, will honor the most lenient applicable cancellation policy.

On the Property:

Our rooms accommodate a maximum of 2 guests with the exception of our George Washington Wood Suite. Unfortunately, there is no way to provide for any additional guests within any other rooms.

No smoking anywhere on or around property.

We are unable to accommodate guests younger than age 12.

Pet Policy

The George Washington Wood B&B welcomes one dog of any size for an additional fee of $25 per stay in the George Washington Wood Suite. Well-behaved dogs can be left unattended in rooms. When your room is left unattended for long periods, your pet must be crated. There are grassy areas on the property, but guests must pick up after their dogs. In the event your pet displays unacceptable behavior, which may include excessive noise, we reserve the right to require immediate removal. Damage Assessment – You will be billed for any damage caused by your pet or for any extraordinary cleaning necessary after your pet’s stay. *Cats are not permitted

Additional Policies

Preferred check-in time is 4:00 – 7:00 PM; however we are happy to arrange times beyond those hours with advance notice. Check-out time is 11:00 AM.

Fresh-brewed beverages will be available in the main house dining room and the second floor hallway at 7:15 AM. A freshly-prepared full breakfast is served in the dining room between 8:00 and 9:30 AM. Please let us know if you have special dietary needs.

We hope you appreciate the beauty of our floors and carpets, and graciously ask you to utilize boot trays and mats throughout the property. Our desire is to keep the interior “outdoor shoe/bootless” if at all possible, particularly during inclement weather.

We must request that you do not burn candles in our guest rooms. In addition to safety concerns, we have a very sensitive alarm system, and candles are likely to set off the alarm. We’re happy to lend LED substitutes.

For the comfort and protection of our guests, we have a no smoking policy on and around our property. Guests who violate this policy must be asked to leave and will be charged for their entire reservation. We are pet friendly, but please read our Pet Policy for more information.

No daily service charge is added to bills. Gratuities may be left at the guest’s discretion.
